COMPANY HISTORY
The company was founded in 1974 by Luis van Rossum and Frans van Meulebroeck, both from the Netherlands. It was an ideal partnership: the former an entrepreneur with extensive international experience; the latter an electronics engineer from the Dutch company, Philips. They based themselves in Altea on the southeast coast of Spain.
Originally they worked under the name Profsound and quickly established themselves during the tourist boom of the 1970's supplying sound systems for the ever-increasing number of bars, discotheques, concerts and fiestas. Their reputation as professionals grew quickly as did the demand for their services through personal recommendation, the finest form of advertising, because they offered the complete package: power amplifiers; loudspeaker systems and signal processors.
They continue to enjoy solid success in the early 1980's with the launch of the well known PS Series. Its reliability and durability enables it to be used exhaustively, night after night at traditional local fiestas and pop and rock concerts throughout Spain. Profsound's reputation was thus built by its satisfied customers who know they can rely on equipment that will never let them down, not even under the most rigorous conditions and the heavy-handed treatment it sometimes receives during the frenetic nightlife atmosphere of Spain's young generation. This claim is supported by the fact that many PS Series units are still giving excellent, trouble-free service after 25 years of strenuous use.
With its expansion into international markets it was decided to change the name from Profsound to Audience Delight Systems avoid names confusion in the Benelux.
Audience Delight Systems is one of the pioneers in the field of digital sound processing. As a result the company was the proud recipient of the Dutch Technological Innovation Award in 1994 for its AD-1000 DC digital sound processor, being the first of his kind.
From the beginning the company's philosophy has been to invest in R&D believing this to be the way to stay on top and maintain its strong reputation. It does not engage in excessive advertising, marketing and sales promotion.
In the mid 1990's a German sound engineer named Juergen Eicker was incorporated into the company. He was attracted by the company's philosophy and was put in charge of the R&D department. His ideas corresponded with those of Audience Delight Systems, innovation without compromising quality, durability, reliablity. This resulted in the launched the 32/FS Series, a high power, 4-way active public address system supported by the semi-digital microprocessed AD-2400 power amplifier series. The company was now enjoying a huge demand from Germany and the Benelux countries supplying large rental operators and installing systems in some of the biggest discotheques plus giant sound systems for techno parties and the electronic music boom, fashionable at the time.
Audience Delight Systems chose the Frankfurt Prolight & Sound '00 to launch its new MA & MI passive loudspeaker series, which included a intern safety design. In just under a year this has proved to be a great success, because of the product's quality, reliability and durability.
After several years exhaustive research and testing the new NEO-craft touring/stadium system was presented at NAMM '02. The use aluminium frameworks and neodymium drivers coupled with a revolutionary design and sound engineering concept did truly change the established weight, power, definition and rigging standards in the professional sound reinforcement industry.
Audience Delight Systems introduced the AD-Series at the Prolight&Sound 03 in Frankfurt again with great success. The series consisted of a line of full range loudspeaker cabinets, a high performance PA-System for indoor and outdoor use and matching bass-cabinets.
With the start of the line array hype,Audience Delight Systems opted for the design of a small to mid-size line array system witch had proven to be the right choice at the time.
The CLA-series was introduced at the Frankfurt Prolight& Sound 04". The series consisted of the CLA-2,the CLA-D(Downfill) and the CLA-B(Bass). Integrated flying hardware with BGV-C1 approval was included.Ease Focus simulation program was made available.
